The Gibson ES-175, released in 1949, quickly became the most popular guitar in the world of jazz, no doubt due to the warm and natural sound of this particular instrument. Originally equipped with only one P-90 pickup, two P.A.F. humbuckers were installed in 1957 and accordingly the Gibson ES-175 is still built today. – Top: Laminated maple – Laminated maple back and sides – Neck: Mahogany – Fingerboard: Rosewood
