Gibsons first ’59 reissue. Built between 1980 and 1982, the Heritage Series Standard-80 was the first model since 1960 to feature a bookmatched figured maple top and one-piece mahogany body, finished in an authentic cherry sunburst. Finally, Gibson delivered a Les Paul that was reminiscent of the “Burst” of the legends in sound, look and feel.
The PAF replica pickups, designed by Tim Shaw, are slightly hotter than original PAFs and sound clear and sweet.
With less than 3000 standard 80s produced, this now much sought-after series is popular with fans of the original “Burst” who don’t want to cash out their life insurance right away.
