Marshall JMP 1959 Super Lead 100W Plexi 1967

Vintage original Marshall JMP Super Lead. This early JMP Plexi has the same specifications as the amps Eddie Van Halen used for his legendary “Brown sound”: undersized transformer and a single “Blue Capacitor”. These features still originate from the circuit of the JT45. The result is a 100 watt Plexi amp that goes into desirable distortion relatively early on. An absolutely cool piece!

This 1959 JMP needed some love from our amp mechanic because the previous owner had made some crooked modifications. We have neatly wired everything according to the original scheme and rebuilt it as faithfully as possible. New electrolytic capacitors from Tube Amp Doctor and JJ, new Pilot Light. The amp sounds fantastic! The perfect workhorse to get the high-gain sound of the 80s in the studio.
