Under the direction of Andy Powers, the Taylor Gold Label 717e marks a bold step in a new sonic direction, combining the warm, rich character of historic acoustic guitars with Taylor’s modern playability. Introduced in 2025, the Gold Label Collection carries the motto “Born With an Old Soul” and focuses on a deep, warm sound that comes from the combination of Indian rosewood and a torrified Sitka spruce top—complemented by the Grand Pacific body shape, which provides added resonance and richness.
The mature tone of the thermally cured top is immediately reminiscent of old, well-played instruments, while the rosewood provides complexity, depth, and rich overtones. Taylor’s V-Class bracing gives the 717e additional clarity and projection, and the innovative Action Control Neck with long tenon joint and comfortable neck profile provide exceptionally comfortable playability. For stage and studio use, the LR Baggs Element VTC provides natural-sounding, detailed amplification.
The aesthetic, inspired by vintage instruments, is completed by cream bindings and pickguard, elegant fingerboard inlays, nickel tuners, and a newly designed headstock with old-school logo inlay. Delivered in an exclusive “British Cocoa” hardshell case, the Gold Label 717e embodies the perfect combination of traditional inspiration and modern precision.
