The Mercury was produced in the USA from 1993 to 1994. During this time Grover Jackson (later Jackson Guitars) was responsible for the custom shop at Washburn.
The MG-44 was endorsed in the 1993 Washburn catalogue by none other than Michael Angelo Batio.
