According to the book &#8220;The History of Marshall&#8221;, 100 units of the 1959S were produced in just one year before production of this amp was discontinued.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the power and standby switches, the amp originally had a third switch labeled &#8220;Polarity&#8221;. This dates back to times when electrical equipment did not yet have to meet today&#8217;s safety standards. This is why this deadly switch has been removed and replaced by a very useful master volume modification.<\/p>\n<p>The amp sounds fantastic, has a tight distortion with crisp highs and lovely compression.
