While there, she had the opportunity to select the finest woods that Martin reserves for truly special instruments. Working with the team at the Martin Custom Shop, she used these premium tonewoods to create a limited series of unique guitars.  <\/p>\n<p>One of our absolute favorite body shapes is the often-underrated 0000 (Quad-0). Legend has it that in the 1960s, New York-based luthier Matt Umanov converted a Martin F-9 archtop jazz guitar into a flat-top, thereby creating the very first \u201c0000.\u201d This body shape is almost as wide at the lower bout as a Dreadnought, though less deep and significantly more tapered.
