“Doppel is a Foxx Tone Machine based pedal, which exhibits completely different potential than the original circuit. Some uncommon circuit tweaks deliver a new approach to such a classic pedal. It’s overall character is now heavy, huge sounding fuzz with thick, smooth character, yet delivers some handy tone operations potential.<\/p>\n
Fuzz knob tends to enhance different range of midrange towards low settings, with gentle low-end cut at minimum (it acts in kinda similar way to a wah pedal). This means it is an effective tone shaping tool beyond simple gain control, with many sweet-spots across the whole dial.<\/p>\n
Jolt knob lets unclipped low-end through and adds extra grit to the fuzz sound. With this control cranked it gets extra juicy and bold.<\/p>\n
Tone knob acts similar to BMP control, but it’s voiced for substantial midrange boost to make it cut through any mix. Overall character is quite dark but tone knob allows to dial in some high-end aggressive rasp.<\/p>\n
Doppel now comes with internal DIP-switch, which allows to cut out some of that midrange or to set a mid-scooped, aggressive tone for vast amount of available tones, including classic octave-fuzzes voicing and also kind of BMP-likeness, in addition to ‘stock’ obese and midrange-heavy fuzz tone.<\/p>\n
Level knob provides lots of gain on tap so you can smash your amp even with lowest fuzz setting.<\/p>\n
Octave switch engaged octave mode. Octave knob blends octave effect with the basic tone, what changes it’s character from ‘overwhelming’ to more ‘matching’, with many useful settings across the dial. Octave itself is not as sweet and slinky as in other Foxx-based octave fuzzes. It’s raw, mean and angry. With jolt turned up and octave even at max, no low-end is sacrificed.<\/p>\n
NO BATTERY OPERATION POSSIBLE WITH THIS PEDAL. Feed it only with standard 9V DC negative center power supply.<\/p>\n
CONTROLS:
\noctave – octave up level (when engaged with left footswitch)
\nfuzz – controls amount of distortion and filter response (CCW rolls of low end and sweeps range of midrange boost)
\nlevel – output volume level
\njolt – CW adds undistorted low end and extra dirt
\ntone – CW bright tone, CCW dark tone<\/p>\n
INTERNAL CONTROLS:
\ntwo sections mid boost DIP switch – both up for a default midrange boost, ‘1’ up only for a gentle midscoop, both down for a heavy midscoop (‘2’ up only doesn’t make much difference to both up)”<\/p>\n
