Fender Telecaster Custom Black 1974

SKU: 16286

Vintage original Telecaster Custom with the Wide Range Humbucker developed by Seth Lover. The inventor of the humbucking guitar pickup, Seth Lover, was commissioned by Fender in the 1970s to create a humbucker that would retain Fender’s characteristic “twang”. His design for Fender included polepieces made of the magnetic copper alloy CuNiFe. This is in contrast to the Gibson humbucker, where the magnetic material is in the form of a bar under the non-magnetic pole pieces.

This crucial difference leads to more differentiation of the individual strings and that crisp attack that is so popular for Fender.

Fender guitars with the original Wide Range humbucker pickups are becoming increasingly sought after and accordingly hard to find. We are pleased to offer you this magnificent guitar!
