The RD Bass was Gibson’s response to the fear that bassists were being lured away by the synthesizer market. So Gibson created a bass guitar with a built in Moog synth. Unfortunately, the sound of the Moog electronics is almost unusable, which is why very few of these basses have survived. We are all the happier that we can offer you the “RD Standard” model here, which already left the factory without a Moog preamp. Thanks to passive construction à la Jazz Bass, the RD Standard is an absolutely cool and perfectly functioning vintage bass.
This bass is in exceptionally good condition. Only very few, marginal signs of use are visible. This bass is including the original case. The included cable and strap look like they’ve been around since 1979.
