This rare superstrat from Hamer comes from a good year for heavy metal: with Master of Puppets by Metallica, Reign in Blood by Slayer and 5150 by Van Halen, three genre-defining albums were released in the same year.
In the mid-80s, Strat-style guitars with humbucker pickups and locking tremolos became increasingly popular. Hamer’s answer to the increasing demand was the Chaparral, which was launched in 1985. The Chaparral Custom has an ebony fingerboard with “Boomerang” inlays and a humbucker pickup produced by DiMarzio. The straight-as-an-arrow maple neck allows for an incredibly low setup!
