Fender Stratocaster from the Dan Smith era. Dan Smith joined Fender in 1981 as Research & Design Manager, with a mission to restore quality standards to the level of the golden Fender years through 1965. A truly herculean task, as is evident from interviews with Dan Smith.
Dan was obviously up to the task because Strats from the early 80s have a very good reputation! He brought back the 4-point neck joint, the pickups got a little hotter, and the neck shape got a little bigger again (moving away from the ultra slim profile of the late 70s).
This 1982 Strat is in exceptionally good condition. Only a few scratches and smallest nicks show the real age of this guitar. The neck and frets are in virtually perfect original condition.
