Fender Stratocaster Olympic White “Dan Smith” 1982
Vintage original Fender Stratocaster in the iconic, beautifully yellowed Olympic White finish.
Fender Stratocaster from the Dan Smith era. Dan Smith joined Fender in 1981 as Research & Design Manager, with a mission to restore quality standards to the level of the golden Fender years through 1965. A truly herculean task, as is evident from interviews with Dan Smith.
Dan was obviously up to the task because Strats from the early 80s have a very good reputation! He brought back the 4-point neck joint, the pickups got a little hotter, and the neck shape got a little bigger again (moving away from the ultra slim profile of the late 70s).
