After a year of waiting, we are enormously pleased to finally hold in our hands this exclusive bass from Saku Vuori, aka Vuorensaku: The T. Family Bass “Emeraldo”, an exclusive Gitarren Total custom model!
Saku Vuori is based in Finland and builds absolutely cool offset guitars and basses. All of his creations are one-of-a-kind and are made from only the finest woods. For our Gitarren Total Custom Bass, called “Emeraldo”, Saku gave away a beautiful piece of Canadian maple from his wood collection to make the neck and fingerboard. The body made of American alder is particularly light and the bass weighs a total of only 3.7kg. The pickup is built by Saku himself. It is a Thunderbird style humbucker with exceptionally strong magnets and hefty 10.7k output. The sound coming from the amp is very powerful, with rich basses and purring low-mids and smooth highs. Despite the short scale length of only 30.27″ this bass sounds anything but small!
Lastly, a bit of trivia: The name “Emeraldo” refers not only to the emerald green color of the bass. Emeraldo is also the name of a character from the Finnish Comic “Mumins”. A very nice reference to the origin of the bass 🙂
